k-eleven
Mainly k-eleven is a brand that stands for environmental-friendly and animal-cruelty-free fashion. k-eleven was founded in 2014 in Dublin by Designer Katharina Krause (aka Kate). in 2017 the business migrated to the German fashion capital Berlin. In the early stages k-eleven only featured fashion by Kate. Over time other designers are to join the label. The idea behind this is to allow upcoming designers to have a channel to sell their own pieces. The designs will only have one thing in common: the philosophy to save the planet. Whilst for some, this is a naive project, it is important to the founder that k-eleven will always be first and foremost about sustainability and against animal cruelty.
Don't get fooled and think k-eleven will only sell natural, organic products. If the sustainability is guaranteed, k-eleven will also accept synthesised material.

How k-eleven works
Well, this section is not so much about now k-eleven works but to illustrate how k-eleven incorporates sustainability.
- the fashion: 90% of the products sold on k-eleven.com have to be organic ("bio"). Every item on display has a little description box, outlining how it is organic or not. k-eleven will due some due dilligence when new designers are onboarded but also relies on the designers moral compass to use the fabric they claim to use.
- the packaging: k-eleven has searched the internet and finally found a company focussing on manufactering green packaging. Whether you get your purchase in a box or a bag, it will be sustainable.
- the shipping: we are shipping (whenever we can) with PinMail. they are not just literally green, but working themselves on sustainability and minimizing the carbon footprint.
Katharina Krause(Kate)
Kate studied fashion design at the Dublin Institute of Design. During this time she started the fashion label k-eleven. However, back then she has still too involved in the corporate world to focus on the label. With that nothing was ever sold. That is until 2017, when the designer quit her job to focus on her business. Between quiting her job and starting the business, Kate took a part time job as a manufacturing- and sales assistant in a Berlin fashion company.
With her experience in the corporate world as well as her insight into the fashion world, Kate focusses on fashion that is ready-to-wear rather than haute couture. Usually the designer combines a classical sillouhette with modern, edgy prints. Kate loves subcultures such as goth, punk or rockabilly and tries to incorporate these in her designs.
