Friday, 05/09/2014: I arrived at the Ballsbridge Hotel hoping that my designs will survive until after the show- during the fittings the designs had already ripped in places and I had tried to fix them. The results were not as I intended them to be, but I liked them non the less.
The day started quite relaxed. Each model endured 1.5h of getting hair and make-up done and then quickly did one rehearsal without the actual garments. The show was due to start at 7pm and we started only with a 45min delay. A last minute decision to have a brief interview with each designer on stage almost let to a nervous breakdown - but I survivied. Now the show is over. It was a great success and I can only congratulate Edita Liaugaudaite for winning the competition and well done to all participants. It was a great show and I had a lot of fun - even without winning. With the fashion show about 2 weeks away, I really need to get the garments finished... here is what it is hopefully going to look like but I already have a feeling that using crisp and bin bags wasn't the smartest idea :)
The models finally got their pictures from the fashion show back in May. And here those pictures are:
Brendan, the institute's director uploaded the video of the fashion show on youtube. Below you should be able to see the full show, if you only want to see my collection use this link : http://youtu.be/2Y65aYqoiNA?t=38m2s or forward to 38 minutes into the video :) I was finally able to complete my branding video! I uploaded it in youtube and now want to share it. For animating this short video, a special thanks goes to #Fandini Medienmanufaktur the fashion show is over. I want to laugh and I want to cry! It was brilliant, I could not be happier with my models: they have done a fantastic job. I am really thankful to everyone who was involved (the last minute make-up artists, the hairdresser, the 1st years, Brendan, the other designers in my group and whomever I have failed to mention. I hope people enjoyed the show.
I will see what happens next... maybe I can actually get my collection into production... but we will see A big thank you to everyone that voted for their favourite picture. I handed everything in and I will see the result in the Lookbook on the night of the fashion show.
